Ridgedale FCU’s own Stephen DiGioia successfully completed the 10-mile run on Sunday April 7th while among the beautiful cherry blossoms in Washington DC. He met the famed cherry blossom tree, Stumpy. Stumpy was the official tree-turned-mascot of this year’s run. Stephen’s wife was on the side lines cheering on Stephen and his fellow runners.
The Credit Union Cherry Blossom is a 501(c)(3) organization. The Credit Union Cherry Blossom believes in inclusion, respect, and tolerance. These beliefs guide our actions in conducting our events.
The proceeds from our events support Children’s Hospitals that belong to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a non-profit international organization that helps to treat millions of children across the U.S. and Canada. Since a consortium of credit unions became the title sponsor of the race in 2002, the race has donated nearly $9 million to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
