The last half of the summer is upon us, and we all know what that means, it’s time for back-to-school shopping!
Everywhere you look there are back to school sales happening. Whether you are a parent with young children going to school, or you’re a college student heading into your freshman year here are some Ridgedale FCU approved tips for you to follow when preparing for the fall:
- Check Your Account Daily
- Preparing for the school season usually involves lots of shopping. Checking your accounts daily can help prevent any charges you may not recognize from coming through and piling up. You can check your RFCU account online or from your mobile device. Go to our internet and mobile banking page to enroll.
- Be Cautious
- While scrolling through social media I’m sure we have all come across ads for cute notebooks, planners and other fashionable supplies. While plenty of those ads are legit, some of them are scam sites and are looking to sell you items that don’t exist or are bad a quality and not worth what you paid.
- Budget, Budget, Budget
- Before hitting the stores to restock for the upcoming school year, map out how much you’d like to spend on supplies to ensure you don’t overextend your wallet.
- If this is a challenging financial season for you, considering a small personal loan* with potentially lower interest rates than many credit cards will free up room in the budget for needed supplies. To learn more about a personal loan and to apply for a loan click here.
- Think Ahead
- Now is the perfect time to open a vacation club/ extra savings account to start saving up for next summer’s activities! If you open a vacation savings account now, if you contribute $30 a week until May you’ll have $1000 to spend for summer 2025! Click here to learn more.
The back-to-school season can be such a chaotic time of year. Follow these tips to start the school year off right!
Ridgedale FCU offers both personal loans* and vacation club accounts for anyone interested. For any questions or concerns call us at 973-947-1000.
